Winter vacation homework 2023

 Here is the vacation homework assignment for A2. (I am flexible about the length of the writing.  If students can give me a piece around 200-300 words, I will be happy):

Grade 5 Winter Homework January 2023  

Attention Xinmin scholars! 

1. Next semester the school will be taking submissions for the Xinmin Horizons magazine. Students must prepare a short piece of writing 300 - 500 words in length. You may choose any genre or topic you are interested in. Please handwrite the final draft on a piece of lined paper. Make sure your writing is neat and legible. 

Hand it in to homeroom teachers. The winning pieces of written work will appear in the magazine!

2. Some reading assignments, writing activities and videos will be set on Savvas Realize for students to complete during winter break.  

3. For our global fair, the students have to make a presentation about the UK. They can make a poster, draw a picture, make a labeled diagram, build a model, or write something.

Wednesday 1/18

 We did not have leveled class today.  Since we won't meet tomorrow, I will use this opportunity to wish everyone a healthy and happy new year.  I hope we can all have a good rest and come back refreshed for a new semester!

Monday 1/16

We had a discussion today about the weekend and what we all plan to do over the vacation.

Thursday 1/12

 Today we talked about irregular plural nouns and did some practice in the notebook.

Tuesday 1/10

 Today we read through the story, Raise the Flag High, discussing vocabulary and the nature of being in battle.

There is no homework for tonight.

Monday 1/09

 Today in our one period I went over some questions that will be asked of the students in an English conversation activity in the next few weeks.

I did not assign homework.

Friday 1/06

 Today I returned the exams and we went over them.  Then we began looking at the vocabulary words connected to Raise the Flag High.

 Today we finished our oral tests and talked a bit more about delicious food.

Wednesday 1/04

 Today we had our written exam instead of our A2 class.  I finished marking the tests and the average is 81%.  There is no additional homework for tonight.

Tuesday 1/03

 Today we continued with the oral exams.  There are still a couple that haven't been finished due to technical problems.  Tomorrow will be our written exam.  I hope that we can finish the oral tests afterwards.
